is a microset?
the microsets have been a series of events where we have invited the
world's top micro talent to squeeze themselves and their beloved plastic
sound factories into 30cm square. ouch.
after months of scratching our heads, fierce debate and regulated
combat [gwEm and tryst went 10 rounds] we decided on calling these
live music events the "microset" because it sounds like
"micromusic" [that's us] and people 'in the know' call gigs
sets, am i right? it's fully micro - we've seen mini electronic junk
from yesteryear transformed into musical splendor; gameboys, ataris,
kids toys - its a veritable whos of who of that precious junk your
mum through out. Its not all head knodding and beard scratching with
some bored 30 something behind a powerbook! this music's for dancing,
and boy does london groove when our beep freaks hit them with that
sweet combination of 8 bit grooves.
